Development stages

There are three stages to the development of this site. At present the emphasis is on phase three. All will be happening simultaneously in some way but the emphasis will be in the following stages. The idea is to keep the development of this site completely transparent so that you also feel part of it's creation and possibly contribute to its' creation if you feel you have skills in a particular area or could contribute in some way; maybe you are involved in a journal or news letter in your organisation and could spread the word.

Phase one - Seek funding for the site.

I am pleased to report that UnLtd, who are supported by the Millennium Commission, are offering funding and support for this project for two years as a free information site that benefits the community. A decision will then be made about whether to seek more funding or set up the site as self funding.

Phase Two - Let Psychotherapists and counselors know about the Black & Asian therapist online directory.

The idea is to make the Black & Asian therapist online directory a resource for those looking for psychological support and information about therapy and events who are from the Black and Asian community. They say content is king on a web site so this phase of development is about giving people good reasons to come to the site. This is what I intend to do...

  • Advertise in Professional association journals
  • Contact Black and Asian agencies and Organisations
  • List interested therapists in the directory
  • Include in the directory, articles and events of interest that support psychological growth.

Phase three - Let the public know about the Black & Asian therapist online directory.

This will be done through advertisements in the popular press and specialist magazines as well as word of mouth.

Will keep you informed!
